YIPPEE!!
I was cleaning out my closet this morning (yes, I'm in full on nesting mode...) and I found an old purse. I was about to chuck it, when I decided to glance through the pockets. It was mostly full of old receipts and miscellaneous junk, but in one side pocket, I hit the jackpot... $23 in cash! The moral of the story... clean out your closet- You may find something great!

Listen to your kids- they may be saying something important...
So, tonight, I made some dinner for the kids (Jermie was at work, so we ate earlier) and I ran downstairs to send an email. Jacob kept yelling something at me, but I kind of ignored him and yelled at him to eat his dinner. When I came upstairs, his food was untouched and I was about to get after him for not eating when he said in a really quiet voice, "Mom- Can we PLEASE say the prayers now?" It was so cute. I have to mention that shortly after this, he started burping the alphabet (lest you think my child is an angel...)

Preschool Graduation
This past May, Jacob graduated from Building Blocks Preschool. He has learned so much and is excited to start Kindergarten in the fall. The graduation ceremony was really cute and he got to release a butterfly at the end. The kids had watched the butterflies emerge during the last weeks of school and it was sweet to see them send off the butterflies into the world as they will be doing soon.
Jacob's First Love
Several months ago, Jacob came home from Preschool and declared, "Mom, I'm in LOVE!" He then went on to tell me of his plans to marry his "preschool sweetheart" Lizzie on Friday. I reminded him that we were going to the aquarium on Friday, so he said, "That's okay, I'll marry her next week." She really is such a cute girl, but he may break some other hearts in his declaration.
Why do I buy toys?

Jacob's Swimming Lessons
During the second week of June, Jacob took some private swimming lessons with a local high school student. He learned how to do various kinds of floats and kicks, side breathing, freestyle and backstroke. He absolutely loved his teacher- In fact, yesterday, he kept wanting to call him to tell him about his ant bites (a subject for another post...) and I had to convince him to call Grandma instead (AKA- Someone who would actually care :) He had a great time and is becoming a good little swimmer.

The cutest cake ever
So, I have to give a shout out to my amazing friend who made this cake for my baby shower last week. She has admitted to me in the past that she HATES working with fondant, so I'm especially touched that she sacrificed her time and sanity to make this amazing cake. Thanks Jessica!

You can see all of her creations here. (Be sure to check out the cuckoo clock cake- it rocks!)

Horse Ride with Danny
Last week, the boys got to go for a horse ride with Danny the horse. (He belongs to one of our neighbors). Kyle was a little nervous, but did fine as long as he could ride with the cowboy. Jacob loved it until his allergies kicked in (luckily it was after he had ridden). Although Jermie loves horses, this is probably as close as we'll ever get to having one- Sorry Jermie!
