Happy Birthday Jacob!

Jacob celebrated his 6th Birthday today.  Can you tell from the pictures what the theme of his party was?  He got 13 transformers (and only one duplicate!)  Highlights of the party were: pin the tail on the donkey (most of the kids cheated), bobbing for apples (which is so cute to watch when many of the kids don't have their front teeth!), a huge Transformer pinata and a fabulous cake (thanks Jessica!).

Jake the Science Guy

That picture of Kyle in the bathtub reminded me of this picture of Jacob in the same goggles. He was helping the scouts make their Pinewood Derby cars in our garage a couple years ago. So cute... And possibly another blackmail picture.

Dinosaur Museum

Here are a couple pictures that Jermie took on his i-Phone at the Dinosaur museum in Lehi. The kids had a blast even though there were a million people there!

Blackmail for when he's older...

Kyle and his cousin, Maddie were happy to pose for this bathtub picture- They may not be so happy in 10 years though!

Arnold Hog Ranch

We saw this sign at the State Fair and had to get our picture with it. Now you know how we really make our fortune!

Eating is SO exhausting!

Bethany is 2 months old!

Happy Birthday Bethany!  She now weighs 8 lb. 15 oz. (10th percentile). She's in the 50th percentile for her height though.

Whitaker Family Reunion

This past weekend, we headed down to Fillmore, UT for a Whitaker Family reunion. (This is the family of my Great Grandma Whatcott on my Mom's side).   It was held at a really nice park and the kids had a great time.  They had their faces painted, played a frog game, played ring toss, had a candy hunt, made visors and painted rocks.  The weather was perfect and we all had a lot of fun!

Kennecott Copper Mine

On Labor Day, we took the kids to visit the Kennecott Copper Mine.  They thought it was cool to see all the big tractors and learn about mining.  They also liked looking in the microscope at different types of rocks and minerals.  If you haven't been, I recommend taking a field trip!

Kyle's First Day of Preschool

Kyle has been so excited to go to preschool this year.  This morning, the first thing he said (in his groggy voice) was "Today can I go to preschool?"  He seemed to have a fun first day and can't wait to go back.

Conquering the Beast

Okay, I have a confession to make.  I'm a little embarrassed to admit that I can't drive a stick shift car.  I've been taught a couple of different times and even done it on occasion, but not enough to feel comfortable to drive anywhere without going into cardiac arrest.  So, I promised Jermie a few months ago that I would learn to drive his car.  (It's becoming more and more inconvenient for me to always take the van- Especially if Jermie has all the kids and needs to go somewhere.)

So, tonight my mom and I went to the church parking lot across from Costco and practiced.  I stopped and started about 30 times (because that's the part that scares me the most).   I only stalled a couple of times.  After practicing, I decided to be brave and drive across the street to Costco.  Lucky for me I had a green light.  So I proceeded to cross the street and this big SUV tried to make a left turn without yielding to me.  I slowed down (even remembering to put the clutch in!) and honked at him and he stopped turning.  Once I got in the Costco parking lot, I took the first parking space I could find and stopped the car (even though we had to hike across the whole parking lot to get to the store).

Please, wish me luck- And be careful out there.  I just might be on the road!

Bethany's Blessing

Bethany was blessed in church this past Sunday.  She looked so beautiful in her dress that Jermie's mom made for her and seemed to like all the attention.   The cool thing about her dress was that the buttons used (on the back) belonged her Great Grandma Virginia, after whom she is named.  Unfortunately, the kids were so uncooperative for the family picture that this was the best shot.  Better luck next time...
