On our way home from Mirror Lake, we stopped at the Provo River Falls. It was just starting to get really warm, so it felt good to dip our toes in the water.

Camping

This past week I broke my nearly 7 year streak of not sleeping in a tent (I prefer to camp at the Marriott). We went up to Mirror Lake (past Kamus) with our friends the Pedersens. The lake was beautiful and we had a blast.

Jacob absolutely loved fishing even though he didn't catch anything. He keeps asking to go again.

Kyle had fun fishing too.

Bethany conked out in the hiking backpack. Hmm, wonder why... Maybe because she screamed for almost 3 hours during the night.

Bethany's Favorite Treat

4th of July (a little late)

We started the day off at the Provo parade. Jacob walked the entire parade route with Jermie this year (which is why he isn't in this first picture)

Bethany loves Krispy Kreme doughnuts and ate 2 and a half.

Here we are at Stadium of Fire. Jermie got free tickets from the Marching Band, so we took the kids. Here they are waiting for the show to start. They liked everything except the musical numbers (She-daisy and the Jonas Brothers).

Bethany's First Birthday

For Bethany's birthday party, we headed up to my parent's house (because ours had a big hole in the wall) and celebrated there. We had dinner, swimming, cake and a pinata.

My sister in law's family has a tradition of giving every baby in their family a box of tissue on their first birthday. The baby gets to pull the tissues out and throw them. I thought this tradition was so cute, I just had to steal it! Bethany loved it. She would open a few presents, then go back to playing with the tissues over and over.

At first, Bethany was only interested in eating the strawberry off the top of the cake, but she soon got the hang of it and dug in.

More Bethany

Bethany just looked so cute this morning in her "Birthday Girl" shirt that I had to post pics. I also wanted to show off the cute bows I made just for the occasion. (One of the ribbons has little cupcakes on it)

My sweet little baby is 1 today. Here are just a few things I love about Bethany:

* The way she pats my back when I pick her up.

* How she holds her blanket and sucks her thumb when she's tired.

* When I walk into a room she gets really excited to see me.

* Her cute hair and tiny body.

* The way she dances and shakes her little bum back and forth.

Working together

After a day of non-stop fighting between my boys, I walked downstairs to find this. Kyle is asleep and Jacob is using his back as a foot rest. Ahhh, finally some peace and quiet.

Of course, she did this while Jermie is out of town. Serves him right for leaving us for a week!
