National Zoo

On Thursday, we visited the Smithsonian National Zoo.

At lunchtime, we found some shady benches in front of a cage with some orangutans. As we were finishing, a big group of people started congregating. Apparently, the orangutans travel from one part of the zoo to another on these giant wires (called an O-Line). They hang above the zoo with platforms connecting them. Then they swing across the zoo. It was quite a show and we had the perfect seats.

My friend from work, Laura was able to come with us. She and Bethany hit it off and Bethany wouldn't leave her side.

Jacob earned money for taking our neighbor's newspapers in while they were out of town. He decided that he wanted to spend his $4 on cotton candy at the zoo. Silly boy. He was really sweet and shared with his brother and sister.

LOVE that zoo! And the O-Line is one of the most amazing things I've ever seen. So glad you had such a great seat to witness it!
